This beautiful day,
Nothing breaks it’s radiance,
The stride of my walk

Tiger Kitten

“Tiger Kitten”

How sadden I am,
To see her wooden body,
On the dirt, she’d fought for life,
Unaware how she came to be,

Not giving it a thought,
Discarded, rejected by young mother,
Who brought life into this world,
Leaving it to starve, chance,

October leaves swept over her tiger stripes,
Fighting off flies in her last hours, still buzzing,
What could I have done, nurse her,
I’m no mother that can nourish her needs,

I’m no better, as she lies there fading,
Her cries in days past a whisper, now silent
~Eugenio Saenz Jr.

I bathe on the shore,
Where we baptized together,
Living day to day

Some days I just drown,
In the inescapable,
Memories of you

It’s hard moving on,
In a world I was building,
For the two of us
